THE PRETENDER
This piece is based on my illustration and my short story "The Pretender" from the end of 2022. I will publish the story on my website soon.
A brief summary who or what this character is:
The character is a masked spirit that haunts an old house in rural Japan. It steals one of the masks in the sacred room in the house, and starts feeding off the people in that house, who thought it was an incarnation of Ianri.
Since the face of the character is a mask I thought how colour and light would affect different states the mask making is more calm and friendly or more ominous.
Another important thing of this character is its body language, the way it moves and transforms.

ROPAFADZO MOYO. BOOK I. WINTER
Character design of Ropa Moyo, main character from Edinburgh Nights books by T.L. Huchu. This particular design is based on the first book “The Library of the Dead”.
Ropa is teenage ghost talker living in an anti utopian version of Edinburgh. She’s got a strong character, keen to learn and street smart.
In the books she’s unveiling some serious mysteries.
I've done many sketches while reading the books and added some of them to the project.
